Spore Science Trailer
Will Wright, Game Designer, speaks about the science behind Spore. On the path through evolution Wright points out an interesting pattern of competition and cooperation. Starting out as a single-celled organism, competing with other single-celled organisms. Eventually a group of single-celled organism will work together, forming a multi-celled organism, where each set of cells specializes for a specific task. At this point the creature is now competing against other creatures, eventually the creatures band together and form a tribe, where each member specializes in a specific task. Definitely an interesting take on how life is constantly in competition which in turn drives cooperation.
