Try out iPhone’s best RTS for Free, Galcon Lite

If Galcon’s recent price drop to $4.99 wasn’t enough to convince you to grab this App Store gem, perhaps playing the game for yourself will help you decide if Galcon is really worth the money. 

Galcon Lite includes the classic mission from Galcon, this is your generic gameplay mode, fight to control planets and build a large enough force of ships to stomp out your enemy.

Galcon Lite is quite fun, but it doesn’t compare to the full version of Galcon, due to its lack of multiplayer which is the secret sauce in this recipe. But the lite version should give you a good impression of what to expect in the full version.

A quick tip for new Galcon players, it took me a few games before I learned this trick, when ships are in flight you can actually select them and alter their target.

This is very useful for enemies that intelligently stack defenses on the planet you targeted, this last second target switch allows you to attack vulnerable enemy planets. But of course this trick only works with real people, computer opponents don’t fall for this.
