App Store now requires app download for Review Submission

Previously anyone could submit a review for an app, regardless if they had actually downloaded the app or not. This led to many unfair reviews, which based their judgements on a few screenshots, with no actual hands on experience.
These unqualified reviews are most damaging when apps are first released, because there is only a handful of reviews, each review has a greater impact on the average rating. In this situation we all lose, both consumer and developer.
The consumers are less likely to take a chance on the app in question due to its low rating, the consumer may be missing out on a great app simply because of a few unqualified reviews. Developers aren’t rewarded for their hard work with high sales just because a small group of people didn’t like the screenshots.
I’m glad to see Apple has done away with this form of App Store abuse, now reviews of apps will be more reliable, better representing an app’s true value.
