Solus Games, the creators of Funky Punch, has recently released FIREWALL: Defender 001, a tower defense game for the iPhone.
FD001 sports simple graphics, which is actually suitable for the whole firewall and viruses theme. The game does a good job illustrating which defenses are best suited for each attack type, allowing players to focus more on defense placement rather than testing out each defense’s capabilities.
There is two play modes in FD001, regular and random. In regular mode the attackers will always use the same entrance and exit points, top-mid and bottom-mid, respectively. Also the sequence of attack types will be the same each game, making it possible to setup long term strategies.
Once you’ve mastered regular mode, you’ll definitely want to try random mode for additional challenge. In random mode the attacker’s entrance and exit points can be located at any of the four edges of the map, as long as entrance and exit doesn’t share the same edge.
The sequence of attacks will also be random, challenging players to be flexible in their defense setups and being able to change their strategy to meet the immediate threat.
FIREWALL: Defender 001 (AppStore) by Solus Games is available in the App Store for only $0.99.
