‘Ferrari GT: Evolution’ rolls into the App Store

Gameloft has released Ferrari GT: Evolution ($9.99) for the iPhone and iPod touch.

Although Asphalt is a feature rich game with many customization options, it suffered from poor frame rates. The good news is Ferrari GT: Evolution doesn’t suffer from the same performance issues, the game runs smooth for the most part.

Currently Ferrari GT: Evolution only offers multiplayer over local Wi-Fi, but don’t worry, Gameloft has stated they will be adding online multiplayer in a future update!

As much as I love how Wii-like tilt steering is for iPhone racers, I would like the option for other control schemes. In Ferrari GT: Evolution you can choose from 3 control schemes screen tap, wheel and accelerometer.

In screen tap mode, you simply tap on the side of the screen to turn and two brake buttons are located at the bottom of the screen. In wheel mode, a virtual steering wheel is located at the bottom left of the screen, just slide your finger on the steering wheel in the direction you wish to turn, the brake is located at the bottom right corner. Lastly, the most familiar steering mode, accelerometer, in this mode your whole iPhone acts as the steering wheel, just tilt your iPhone in the direction you want your vehicle to turn.

Features

  • 33 authentic Ferrari car models: the new Ferrari California, F430, Enzo Ferrari, F40, Testarossa, 250 GTO, and more.
