ngmoco’s Highly Anticipated Platformer ‘Rolando’ Rolls into the App Store

ngmoco’s highly anticipated platformer, Rolando ($9.99), was released today for the iPhone and iPod touch.
Rolando is a fun, and I mean fun, platformer. Platform games aren’t exactly my cup of tea, but this game has the right blend of challenge, goofy graphics and catchy music to win me over.
In Rolando, your goal is to guide the Rolandos through 36 perilous levels, while keeping as many Rolandos alive as possible and reaching the exit before the challenge timer runs out.
Of course controls can make or break any game, regardless of how great the graphics or story is, the good news is Rolando takes full advantage of the iPhone’s controls.
You can select a single or group of Rolandos by swiping your finger diagonally across the screen, this will create a drag box and anything in it will be selected. If you already have Rolandos selected, swiping your finger in an upward motion will make them jump instead of creating a drag box. Once you have the Rolandos selected, just tilt your iPhone to move them left or right.
You can also interact with the environment, by using finger gestures to spin propellers, form bridges, move lifts, etc.
ngmoco has released many games ranging from free to $1.99, this is their first premium title and the price of $9.99 reflects that. Normally I’m hesitant about purchasing games priced at $9.99, but Rolando was a no brainer for me, based on my past experiences with ngmoco games, they’ve always been jam packed with value.
