Word play may not be at the top of your list of preferred games, but if you are looking for a more productive way to spend your leisure time, WordsWorth may be right up your alley.
In WordsWorth you are presented with a grid of tiles that can range from 4×4 to 7×7. Each tile contains a letter, your goal is to link adjacent tiles to form words the minimum letter count being 3, and the higher the letter count the bigger the score.
To link tiles together, simply tap on adjacent tiles to form your word, or drag your finger across the tiles.
There will be times when you get stuck and can’t find a word to form with the given tiles, but don’t fret, in WordsWorth, you just shake your iPhone or tap on the Mr. WordsWorth’s head to scramble the tiles. Scrambles are limited so use them wisely, you’ll gain more as you progress in levels, to keep track of how many scrambles you have left check the top right corner of the screen, the number of hats represent how many scrambles you have left.
Scrambling the tiles comes at a price, each time you scramble more timer tiles are added to the grid, to stop the count down, use them to form a word before time runs out, or the game will be over.
There are other various tiles, such as wild card, that can act as any letter and green/gold tiles to boost your score.

Although the music in WordsWorth is nice, I’d still like an option to turn it off. For some strange reason when I hear the WordsWorth music I think of those pharmaceutical drug commercials, where two people are running on the beach smiling from ear to ear and a voice talks about the benefits of the drug they are selling and then the voice goes from pleasant to auctioneer when they list the side effects, but anyways back to the review.
Word play games can be a great tool to learn new words and reinforce old ones you already know. So far WordsWorth is mainly useful for reinforcing words you’ve already learned, but doesn’t teach you any new words. I’d like to see some form of word suggestion added to WordsWorth in a future update to enhance the game’s educational value.
Overall I found WordsWorth to be a well rounded word game, with a good mixture of special tiles that help spice up the gameplay. With a price of of under two dollars, WordsWorth looks like a safe bet for anyone looking for some word play fun. There is also a lite version of WordsWorth (Free) available in the App Store as well.
