Textropolis: Have Fun and Learn a Word or Two
Learn new words and have fun, that’s Textropolis in a nutshell.
In Textropolis you build up cities by forming words, the words can only consist of letters found in the city name. Each time you form a word a plane flies across the screen with the definition of the word on a banner.
This solves the problem of learning words found in many other word games currently available in the App Store, but there is one small downside.
Each word has to be at least 4 letters long, so lets say for example, if you spell the word “Cats”, the definition will say it is the plural form of cat, that’s great if you know what a cat is, but if you don’t know the core word in the first place the definition really doesn’t tell you much.
Update: Ian Marsh informed me that he has already submitted the 1.0.1 update to Apple for review, this update fixes the plural definitions problem I talked about above.
Besides that, I really had great fun with Textropolis, the game is real easy going, no timers, and if you get stuck, just shake your iPhone to get a hint for another possible word.
The game is currently on sale, the sale price of $0.99 ends after January 20th, so if you are a word game fan, don’t miss out on Textropolis ($0.99)
