Saturday, May 2, 2009

The classic adventure game Myst ($5.99) has arrived in the App Store, now playable on the iPhone and iPod touch.
But don’t get too excited just yet, you’ll need some patience, Myst for the iPhone is over 700MB! And due to the way iPhones install apps, you’ll need at least 1.5GB of free space on your iDevice to successfully install.
Features
- All the original Ages & gameplay
- High quality images (better than original Myst)
- Full music & sound effects
- Original movies & animations
- Auto-save (when quitting or phone call)
- “Bookmark” system to save & restore progress
- Swipe to turn

700 MB? tell that to my massive 750 GB storage. Muahahaa
I was able to beat the game with no cheats in about 15 hours. And then I banged my super model wife while curing cancer.
Well honestly, Myst is pretty much 100000000000 pictures with some video and sound thrown in.
Now the same thing basically fits on a tiny machine I carry in my pocket. So, so weird. That happened 8 years ago

@boony
WAKE UP! I believe spore was released for PC / Mac / iPhone on the same day
whopeee! myst originally was released 1993-only took 16 years for phone technology to catch up to the pc!
if someone comes out with a game ported on both pc and phone concurrently-wake me up!
Oh, puh-lease. This is one of the great games of all time. It defines much of the game play we immerse ourselves in today: Prince of Persia, Mirror’s Edge, Portal, etc etc. I totally agree with Jon C – game designers could take more lessons from Myst than they do by actually creating interesting stories. The first three were absolutely fantastic.
yea I never really cared for myst
@Jason
This is one of the best games in the history of gaming. It probably has one of the most intriguing storylines ever told.
As a former player of Myst, I can say that this is very exciting. Although the game is EXTREMELY difficult, it is one of the most immersive I have ever played. Even using the online walkthroughs, the game is hard to get through.
That’s Myst.
Looks kinda boring
