‘Crystal Defenders Vanguard Storm’ hits the App Store

Square Enix has released another tower defense game, Crystal Defenders Vanguard Storm($4.99), for the iPhone and iPod touch.

Square Enix was off to a rough start on the iPhone gaming platform when it released Crystal Defenders, which was nothing more than a hasty port. Half of the screen was taken up by a virtual D-Pad, which was completely unnecessary when you have a full touchscreen at your disposal.

But things are looking up, Square Enix has definitely stepped up their game and are taking advantage of the iPhone’s touchscreen with their latest release. So now we get a full view of the battlefield unhindered by on screen controls that only serve to waste valuable screen real estate.

Square Enix has also released Crystal Defenders Vanguard Storm Lite (Free), which lets you play the first stage.
