Hands-on Video: :Shift:
The popular web-based flash game, :Shift: ($0.99), by Armor Games has made its way to the App Store. In this hands-on video you’ll get to see just the first few stages of :Shift:. Now the game may seem quite easy early on, but trust me you’ll want to see some of the later stages shown in the video, the difficulty ramps up fast.
:Shift: is played from the side view and the graphics are 2D, consisting mainly of black and white, this stark contrast in colors helps gameplay. At first the game plays like other platformers, but you’ll get to the point where you’ll need to shift in order to progress. When you shift the screen is vertically flipped and all the colors are flipped, so all that was once white is now black and so on. Once you’ve shifted obstacles that were once not passible are easily crossed, shifting can be a disorienting experience at first, but you’ll get the hang of it.
Armor Games has also released :Shift Lite: (Free) if you’d like to try out some stages for yourself, have fun!
