SEGA’s Classic Side-Scroller ‘Golden Axe’ now on the iPhone
SEGA‘s classic action side-scroller is back, Golden Axe ($4.99), now available on the iPhone and iPod touch.
It’s been almost 20 years since I played Golden Axe, I had only warm fuzzy memories of this game, but let’s not forget nostalgia can play dirty tricks on one’s mind. So I fired up Golden Axe on my iPhone and played through the first stage, it only took a few minutes before all my repressed childhood memories came flooding back.
Now I remember why I stopped playing this game, I always got owned! I sucked back then and nearly 20 years later I suck just as badly. But hey I’m not bitter, go ahead have yourself some retro gaming fun, I’ll even show you in my hands-on video how to utterly fail, free of charge.

Instead of a side-scroller you should definitely check out id Software’s latest release, Doom Resurrection. I posted a review of the game with over 9 minute of gameplay video.
It wasn’t just you.. I sucked at that game as well. My first thought as this page was loading was “oh, I remember that game… that game was hard!” I remember renting it and never getting anywhere.. I’m not sure I got past the first level. Oh well, back to my search for the ultimate iPhone side-scroller.
