Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword for Mac OS X has Shipped

Yesterday Aspyr announced the release of Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword for Mac OS X, which has been shipped to North American retail outlets. Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword is the second expansion to the popular turn based strategy game, Civilization IV, originally released in 2005.

Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword adds new gameplay features such as Corporations, similar to religions they can also be spread across the world. There are seven Corporation types, each provides its own benefits in exchange for resources. For example the Standard Ethanol Company will provide you with oil in exchange for corn, sugar or rice.

Espionage is now available earlier in the game, and plays a more important role in the game overall. Players now have the option to invest a portion of their income into espionage activities. Once the player has reached a certain level of espionage investment they will begin to receive automatic intelligence updates on their rival civilizations.
