Gameloft Releases Blades of Fury for iPhone

Gameloft’s latest App Store entry is a 3D fighting game, Blades of Fury [$6.99 - iTunes link]. It’s releases like this that make me yearn for good old fashion gamepad controls, but perhaps it won’t be so bad using touchscreen controls for a fighting game.

I played through the tutorial to sample the gameplay mechanics. In Blades of Fury you can actually side step your opponent, stepping into the background or foreground by pressing the down or up arrow. You can also parry attacks with a well timed block.

I was happy to see Gameloft included multiplayer over WiFi and Bluetooth, this will be great for iPod touch users. The game is definitely worth checking out for fans of fighting games. Don’t skip the tutorial, you’ll get a kick out of the constant shouting of success.
